Two U.2 NVMe drives from one SlimSAS 8x port, power included. This assembly starts at the SlimSAS 74-pin connector (SFF-8654) and terminates in two U.2 (SFF-8639) drive interfaces, each with its power branch built in. It is the standard companion cable for NVMe-capable RAID and tri-mode controllers, and it follows the Broadcom 05-60005-00 (CBL-SAST-0953) pinout and form factor.

- SAS-only hosts — they will not enumerate NVMe drives.
- U.2 drives behind a backplane — run the host cable to the backplane port instead.
- SlimSAS 4x (38-pin) hosts — this assembly is 8x on the host side.

Frequently asked questions
Is this an original Broadcom cable?
No. It is DiLinKer’s assembly built to the same pinout and form factor as Broadcom’s 05-60005-00 (CBL-SAST-0953), so it plugs into the same controllers and drives.
Do I need separate power for the drives?
No. Each U.2 leg includes its power branch, fed from a standard internal power source.
Will both drives run at full speed?
Each drive gets its own four-lane link. Two Gen4 drives saturate the 8x host port together; two Gen3 drives do not come close.
Can I attach just one drive?
Yes. The second leg can be left unconnected — the first drive enumerates normally.
