DiLinKer SlimSAS 8X to 2*oCulink 4X, SFF-8654 74pin to 2*SFF-8611 36pin Cable 80cm(Broadcom MPN 05-60001-00, CBL-SAST-1154-85)
DiLinKer SlimSAS 8X to 2*oCulink 4X, SFF-8654 74pin to 2*SFF-8611 36pin Cable 80cm(Broadcom MPN 05-60001-00, CBL-SAST-1154-85)
A PCIe 4.0 fan-out built to the SFF-9402 reference design. The DiLinKer CBL-SAST-1154-85 takes one SlimSAS 8x host connector (SFF-8654, 74-pin) and splits its eight lanes into two OCuLink 4x ports (SFF-8611, 36-pin). It is the reference-replacement cable for Broadcom MPN 05-60001-00, used with tri-mode and NVMe HBAs that feed OCuLink-input drive enclosures and adapters.
Why this cable
- Built to the Broadcom reference design. A functional replacement for MPN 05-60001-00 (CBL-SAST-1154-85) at a lower price.
- PCIe 4.0, 16 GT/s per lane. Two full x4 links, about 7.9 GB/s per port.
- SFF-9402 compliant assembly. The pinout and construction the mainstream NVMe and tri-mode HBAs are validated against.
- 8 lanes in, 2 × x4 out. Both OCuLink ports run at full four-lane width simultaneously.
- 80 cm working length. Standard reach from an HBA slot to mid-chassis devices.

Compatibility
Works with
- Broadcom 9400 and 9600 series tri-mode/NVMe HBAs with SlimSAS 8x ports.
- Drive enclosures, backplanes and U.2 adapters that take OCuLink 4x input.
- PCIe 3.0 equipment — links negotiate down automatically.
Does not work with
- SAS-only controllers. This cable is for PCIe links; an SAS controller will not detect NVMe devices behind it.
- Drives connected directly. OCuLink is data only — drives need a powered adapter or enclosure.
- MCIO (SFF-TA-1016) host ports — different connector standard.
Typical deployments
- Tri-mode HBA to NVMe shelf. One SlimSAS 8x port feeding two OCuLink-input drive groups.
- Reference-cable replacement. Swap a lost or damaged 05-60001-00 without requalifying the build.
- NVMe expansion on a budget. Reuse existing OCuLink gear from a newer SlimSAS controller.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a drop-in replacement for Broadcom 05-60001-00?
It is built to the same SFF-9402 reference design with the same connectors and length, so it serves the same role in HBA-to-enclosure links. It is not manufactured by Broadcom.
Can I plug U.2 drives into the OCuLink ends?
Not directly. OCuLink is data only. Use a U.2 adapter or enclosure that takes OCuLink input and supplies drive power, or our OCuLink to U.2 cable with the integrated power lead.
Does it carry SAS?
The SlimSAS connector can, but this assembly is used for PCIe links in NVMe and tri-mode designs. Match the protocol to what your controller and devices speak.
Both ports at full speed?
Yes. The eight host lanes are physically split 4 + 4 — no bridge chip, no shared uplink.
In the box
